Title: Hiring Several Roles at Once in Singapore | Skillsforce
Description: Project and volume hiring in Singapore: how a lean team fills several roles at once without stalling, through the Strategic Recruitment Service and contract cover.

A funded project, a new department or a client win turns hiring from a background task into a queue nobody has time to work. The roles do not get easier; the capacity to fill them has to come from somewhere.

## How do you hire for several roles at once with a small HR team?

Hand the whole push to one team rather than running each role separately. Skillsforce takes the sourcing, screening and shortlisting for the full set through its Strategic Recruitment Service, coordinates the interview schedule, and covers gaps with contract or temporary staff where a seat cannot wait for a permanent hire.

## Why spikes stall

Hiring one role while doing a full-time job is difficult. Hiring six is a different activity: the screening volume alone outgrows the person doing it, interviews collide, and the roles that are hardest to fill are the ones that quietly slip while easier ones are processed.

What breaks first is usually coordination rather than sourcing. Candidates go cold waiting for a second interview, and the team ends up re-running searches it has already paid for in time.

## How the push is handled

- One brief covering the whole set, so roles are prioritised against your actual start dates.
- Sourcing, screening and shortlisting run in parallel rather than role by role.
- A single coordination point for interview scheduling, feedback and offers.
- Contract and temporary cover where a seat has to be filled before a permanent hire lands.
- Advertising and candidate handling under your own brand where you prefer that, through the Resume Management Service.

## Where the seats cannot wait

Some of a spike is genuinely temporary: a project that ends, a peak season, a cover requirement while the permanent search runs. Those are staffed on contract or temporary terms so the permanent search is not rushed into the wrong hire, and so the work starts now.

If some of the roles are for foreign hires, the work-pass timeline becomes part of the plan rather than a surprise at the end of it, because a start date depends on the pass as much as on the offer.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does the Strategic Recruitment Service cover on a multi-role push?

It is the arrangement for handing over a hiring push rather than a single vacancy: Skillsforce takes on the sourcing, screening, shortlisting and coordination for a set of roles at once, so your team keeps its own work moving while the hiring runs alongside it.

### Can you fill roles in an industry you have not recruited for before?

Yes, and we say so at the outset rather than implying otherwise. The seven sectors we list are where we go deepest; they are not the limit of where we work. In an unfamiliar market we take a longer brief and treat the first shortlist as a calibration, then adjust against your feedback.

### Do we have to advertise the roles before hiring from overseas?

For Employment Pass applications, MOM’s Fair Consideration Framework requires the role to be advertised on MyCareersFuture for at least 14 consecutive days, with fair consideration of all applicants, before the application is submitted. Exemptions cover companies with fewer than 10 employees and roles with a fixed monthly salary of S$22,500 or more, a threshold set from 1 September 2023. We work the advertising window into the hiring timeline so it does not delay the start date.
