In brief

How does Skillsforce support Banking & Finance employers in Singapore?

Skillsforce places permanent, contract and temporary staff across Banking & Finance (operations, compliance, finance, audit, analyst and middle-office roles) and runs the HR and payroll behind them. For lean or expanding teams, that means hiring continuity plus accurate CPF and IRAS handling, without building everything in-house.

A sector that cannot pause

Banking & Finance runs on people in seats and controls that hold. A vacant compliance or operations role is not just a hiring problem, it is an exposure. We place experienced staff quickly, and where a function is thin, we run the HR and payroll behind it so nothing lapses.

Roles we place

  • Operations and settlements
  • Compliance, risk and audit
  • Finance and accounting
  • Analysts and middle-office support
  • Relationship and client-service roles

Hiring Singaporean and PR professionals

Operations, settlements, compliance and finance have a deep local candidate pool in Singapore, and it is where a search should start.

These are roles Singaporeans and permanent residents move between regularly, more often across sub-sectors than out of the industry, so a candidate from a bank frequently adapts to a fund manager or an insurer. We work that market directly, and shortlist on merit under TAFEP’s Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices. Where a role would otherwise be taken further afield, MOM’s Fair Consideration Framework requires it to be advertised on MyCareersFuture for at least 14 consecutive days first, with fair consideration of every applicant.

Bonus-heavy pay is where a local hire most often goes wrong on the payroll side. Variable bonuses and deferred awards flow through CPF and IR8A, and a new permanent resident sits on graduated CPF rates, 9% of wages in year one and 24% in year two, before full rates apply from year three. We run it correctly from the first payday.

Payroll, the finance way

Pay in this sector is rarely just a flat salary. Variable bonuses, deferred awards and commission cycles all flow through payroll and into IR8A reporting, and regulated roles carry records that must be kept clean. We run accurate monthly payroll, CPF and IRAS filing, including IR8A and, for leavers, IR21 tax clearance, so a complex pay structure never becomes a compliance problem.

How we keep it running

Search the local market first

We advertise the role and work the local candidate pool before any search widens, shortlisting on merit.

Place perm, contract or temp

We fill the seat at the right speed: permanent hires, project cover or a temporary backfill for leave.

Run HR and payroll

Onboarding, CPF, IRAS and bonus-aware payroll handled to a known monthly cadence.

Stay close

A named contact stays with you, adjusting cover as the team grows or absorbs absences.

Common questions

Do you place contract and temporary staff in Banking & Finance?

Yes. Permanent, contract and temporary. Project work, cover for absences and ramp-ups are common in the sector, so we provide capacity quickly as well as permanent hires, across operations, compliance, finance and middle-office roles.

Do you focus on Singaporean and PR candidates?

Yes. We work the local market first for operations, settlements, compliance and finance roles, and shortlist on merit under TAFEP’s Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices. Where a search would otherwise widen, MOM’s Fair Consideration Framework requires the role to be advertised on MyCareersFuture for at least 14 consecutive days, with fair consideration of every applicant, before an employer looks further afield.

How do you keep hiring fair?

Selection is merit-based under TAFEP’s Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices. Skillsforce is Progressive Wage Mark accredited and has adopted three Tripartite Standards: Age-Friendly Workplace Practices, Employment of Term Contract Employees, and Flexi Work Arrangement. All of these sit on public registers, with our EA Licence 99C3289, so you can check them rather than take our word for it.

Can you cover a leave gap in a compliance or operations team?

Yes. We provide interim and temporary cover so a maternity, medical or notice-period gap in a compliance, settlements or finance team does not leave a control unmanned. The cover is screened to the same standard as a permanent hire.

We are a small finance firm without dedicated HR. Can you help?

That is our core fit. We run outsourced or interim HR and payroll for lean Banking & Finance teams, so hiring, CPF and IRAS are handled properly without you building a full in-house function.

We are in a finance niche you do not list. Does that matter?

Rarely. Payroll, CPF and IRAS are statutory and identical whatever the niche, and the local candidate pool in operations, compliance and finance crosses sub-sectors more than job titles suggest. For a search in a corner of finance that is new to us, we take a longer brief and treat the first shortlist as a calibration.
